The Timken Company Makes Investment to Relocate Schulz Electric Into Upgraded Facility
April 6, 2021 - Schulz Electric is pleased to announce plans to move to a new location at the end of April 2021. The 41,000 sq. ft. facility is located at 110 Commerce Street in East Haven, CT, 15 minutes away from our current site. The Timken Company is renovating the facility to transform the building into the region's premier motor and generator repair center.

- Isolated equipment teardown and machining area to avoid cross-contamination of final equipment repair processes
- Dedicated decontamination cell for nuclear motor repairs
- New energy-efficient 12’ x 12’ x 12’ burnout oven
- New larger 10’ x 16’ true-level testbed for more accurate baseline spin and load test readings
- Larger VPI tank pits to accommodate up to 10’ diameter tanks
- Dedicated test area with a witness testing observation booth
- Expanded motor storage and maintenance area
- Increased number and capacity of cranes (up to 40-ton lift capacity)
- New ergonomic lift tables to improve safety in the shop area
- Build-to-suit office space, including a dedicated customer training area
- Entire building outfitted with higher-efficiency LED lighting
- Integrated skylights for enhanced natural lighting
- Close to all major highways to provide easy access for our customers
